Happy New Year!
How’s everyone’s 2017 been so far? I started mine by going through all the sales January has to offer and so far, the deals I’ve found have been worth every penny! (Even my crying bank account agrees.)
The reason I’ve been anxiously waiting for the winter sale in particular is because…. I’m going to Italy this February!
And I’m finally allowed to say it because my boyfriend, Greg, just got his Schengen visa earlier today! YAY! (I was banned from telling close friends about the trip until he was approved. The reason we’re even going is because we’re visiting his sister who lives there. I still would have gone no matter what though… Hehe jk)
Unlike my trip to States last May where I regret not triple checking the weather forecast and not bringing the right set of clothes, I’ve slowly been preparing for my Italy trip by going through my entire checklist one by one.
Flashback: Greg told me Vegas was going to be hot by May and to mostly pack summer clothes. I brought four pairs of shorts and only used it once all throughout my entire stay there. Turns out the seasons were coming a bit late so it was still considered Spring – and according to the locals, it was unusually chilly for May. (That was really comforting to know when you’re outside freezing by the train station along with the other people. At least you know you’re not the only one dying from the cold in a regular sweatshirt.)
I found out that it’ll be the tail of winter by the time we get to Italy so layering up in thick coats is going to be necessary. Since I’m in no rush to get a coat, I decided to wait it out until sale season. Not sure if it’s just me or the Chinese blood in me (most likely the latter) but I’m extremely stingy when it comes to spending. I honestly am not the type of the person to buy things at its full price unless I really, really, really want it – which rarely happens because I feel so guilty whenever I buy something so expensive. Hahaha.
As most of us know, January is sale season here in Manila so I decided to check out F&F and see if they had any winter wear since their brand is originally from London.
The store is HUGE, I tell you.
If you’re looking for something in particular, be it a summer dress or a hoodie for the rainy season, you just might want to check out F&F especially while they’re on sale! They’ve got you covered all throughout the entire four seasons.
If you’re booking a trip to somewhere cold this year and don’t mind wearing last season’s collection, now would be the perfect time to invest on a coat and other winter accessories… like boots! Ugh, I wish I brought these babies home! They’re just the perfect shade of red-orange/brown.
It’s better to be prepared than unprepared for the year; in fact, you might regret not buying during the sale season once you’re rushed and forced to purchase it later in the year when it isn’t on sale.
